Soulful Gospel with Cafe of the Gate of Salvation
Australia’s favourite gospel choir will return to our stunning Sisters’ Chapel to perform in 2019.
Café of the Gate of Salvation is Sydney’s premier a cappella gospel choir. Inspired by the footstompin’, soulful music of the African-American vocal tradition, they sing because they love to and they share their voices to foster inclusiveness, compassion & joy.
Founded in 1986 by Tony Backhouse, the choir have performed all over Australia and the world. Their most recent performances include The Festival of Voices in Tasmania, a regional tour to Mt Tamborine Queensland, as well as a guest appearance on Channel 7’s The Morning Show. The choir is now led by Assistant Musical Directors Fiona Lamb and Cheryl Craig.
