A concert in our 2020 Fine Music Concert Series
Cellist Rachel Scott and classical guitarists Raffaele and Janet Agostino bring you Bach in the Dark!
And you can enjoy canapes and a glass of wine in our Reception Room before the concert (optional, and bookings required)!
Our stunning Sisters’ Chapel will be in darkness for this evening concert – it is a time when you can be ‘in the moment’ with the performers.
As cellist Rachel says: “The concerts are deliberately informal – each piece is introduced, so there’s no need to look at your program. There is no dress code, no rule about when to clap, no rule about how you are meant to ‘be’ as you are listening (just don’t unwrap sweets when the musicians are playing – it’s louder than you think!)”
Rachel began her ‘Bach in the Dark’ series in 2009 in the crypt of St James Church – Sydney’s oldest church, and has been thrilling audiences in Sydney and further afield ever since. For more information about Bach in the Dark, see Rachel’s website: bachinthedark.com
Program details will be advised later. The concert will run for just over an hour.
Tickets for the concert are cheaper online at trybooking.com/BHIJP – $35 adult and $5 school student.
Tickets for the concert will also be available at the door from 7pm, but will be $5 extra.
(Online ticket holders receive preferential seating, and can arrive from 7pm to choose their seat).
Limited tickets for the optional canapes and glass of Hunter wine (served from 6 – 7.15pm) are available at tryooking.com/BHIJP for $20 per person. They will not be available at the door.
