Hunter Wind Ensemble
A concert in our 2020 Fine Music Concert Series
The talented musical students from Hunter Wind Ensemble are wind, brass and percussion players of a high standard aged between 11 and 18 – they are all NSW Department of Education students from the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast regions.
The Ensemble was formed over 15 years ago, as a way to encourage the growth of talented musical students from regional areas that perhaps do not have the same accessibility as those in metro locations.
The Ensemble has performed in the US, Japan and Europe, and in April 2020 are embarking on a tour to China. In mid 2019, they travelled to Central Australia, performing in many small towns along the way. They perform at the Sydney Opera House regularly and at the National Band Eisteddfod in Canberra. In 2019, they were the National Eisteddfod Band Champions.
The Ensemble will be joined for part of the concert by guest local musicians from Singleton.
